Should environmental education become a new school subject?

What do you think about the environment? Are you interested in it? If so then read this blog

post, because I will show some advantages of environmental education as a school subject.

First of all there are a lot of environmental problems around the world. One huge problem is

the plastic in the ocean. Many animals die, because they eat the plastic. As a solution people

should use less plastic and more paper or glass. Another important problem is air pollution.

People should go by bike or the take the bus.

Secondly I want to talk about solutions school can do. They should use more glass instead of

plastic. Also the schools can recycle the plastic, because it rots very slowly. For example you

can use paper to pack food in the school buffet.

Should environmental education become integrated in other lessons? Environmental

education should be integrated in biology, because in this subject you talk about the nature.

It is a really important topic, but it shouldn’t become a new subject because you can’t really

find a teacher.

In the end I hope this topic will be more discuss in school, because it is important for our life.

I really recommend, if you use less plastic and more paper, to safe our planet.

A lost schoolyear because of Covid-19?

Covid-19 was a shock for all of us. The schools in Austria were suddenly closed and all children were sent home. The turbulent everyday life of pupils was suddenly no longer turbulent but instead monotonous and boring. Many months later, half of the class returned to school for two days at a time. And now, on Monday 17 th of May 2021, the long-awaited face-to-face teaching in the schools has started again. And the legitimate question arises: did Covid-19 cost us a year of education? What would you say? I would say no. Of course, it was a new, unfamiliar and perhaps not easy kind of learning during Covid-19. But one thing is for certain: Students learned a lot that they would never have been taught at school. Firstly, pupils became more independent. They learned how to organize themselves and structure their day. They also gained discipline as they were forced to hand in challenging tasks on time. Moreover, they also had to follow a healthy routine in order not to harm their body ...

This seems strange!

Today I took a closer look at the different schooling types around the world, from a pioneer project to now a wide range of these schools. So let´s get right into it.   There are many reasons the summer hill school is as successful as it is. The summer hill school is a unique school in Great Brittan and only consists of approximately 75 students from the age 5 to 18. The point that is making summer hill so interesting is the social connection between pupils of different ages and their teachers. What to me is also one-of-a-kind is the fact that there is no compulsion for learning, the will to learn needs to come from the pupil.   The Waldorf school is a renowned school though its history is quite controversial. In 1919 Emil Molt owned a cigarette factory and opened a school for the children of his workers. Rudolph Steiner was actually the guy who was in charge of building the school and its system. The school system is based on a lot of philosophy and until today they focus on ...
